Receiving and reviewing reports

If, in the course of your work, you have encountered illegal activity that threatens the public interest, you can report it to us.

Reporting illegal activities benefits us all. It helps to prevent the waste of public resources and, in some cases, even to save lives.

Our office deals with cases such as procurement rigging, conflicts of interest, damage to health or the environment, improper handling of hazardous waste and other crimes or administrative offences that have a negative impact on society as a whole.

If you alert us to illegal activity, we will first carry out an initial check to determine whether it is a criminal offence or an administrative offence, gather the necessary evidence with your help and help you file a criminal or administrative offence report with the authority competent to investigate it. If you are concerned about your safety or want to protect your identity for various reasons, we will file a report on our behalf.

It is not within our remit to investigate illegal activities, only law enforcement and administrative authorities can do that. However, our office can be your navigator throughout the reporting process. If you obtain protected whistleblower status, we will also be able to suggest additional evidence or witnesses during the investigation and see that your case has closure.
