Education
As required by the law, we work to raise public and employer awareness of whistleblowing and to provide whistleblower protections. We also provide advice to employers.
We therefore devote a significant part of our capacity not only to receiving and reviewing reports and protecting whistleblowers, but also to training. In doing so, we focus on in particular, on improving the skills of the designated persons, i.e. the staff who are in charge of the employers receiving and reviewing notifications.
To the best of the Office's ability, our staff also provides employers with awareness lectures for employees on how to safely file report illegal activity and whistleblower protection in Slovakia .
In addition, we are also involved in education in schools. We have developed alternative ethics education content for secondary schools, which includes topics such as academic honesty, integrity, anti-corruption behaviour and critical thinking. It is currently being experimentally tested in six secondary schools in Bratislava under the supervision of the National Institute of Education and Youth, with the hope that other secondary schools in Slovakia could subsequently incorporate this content into their education .
